Mineralization

Gold on the Angelina Property is hosted by quartz veins in a shear zone that strikes N50oW. The veins range in width between 2 and 6 feet. The mineralization is associated with pyrite, chalcopyrite, rare galena and tellurides. It appears that the mineralization is related to the intersection of a cross-shear with a main northwest striking 1500 foot long shear (Campbell 1987). Spectacular visible gold has been described from this area. Grab samples produced assays of 28.04 opt and 7.2 opt in isolated short quartz lenses. Elsewhere, such as the San Antonio Mine, the mineralization is associated with gabbro and dioritic rocks. In general, the gold mineralization in the Rice Lake is associated with mid D1 to early D2 deformation (Poulsen et al. 1996).

Massive sulphide mineralization could also be present on the claims, as recommended by Whittles (1989). Although no known mineralization of this kind is currently known on the property, Whittles indicates that the majority of the exploration has been focused on gold occurrences and massive sulphides may have been overlooked.
